It all began with an original s block printed Phool dress she found in at a flea market ten years ago. With colours faded and soft brushed cotton against my skin I felt like Joni Mitchell high upon the Laurel Canyons! This began her obsession for Indian textiles and search to create her own dress that could make someone have similar enjoyment both now and in a further forty years, created with style, honesty and integrity. The aim was a dress that was printed with vintage wooden blocks and that used only the kindest natural dyes that would fade beautifully over time, to recreate the same beautiful effect of her original discovered dress. This led Lara to India to find the block printer that could create this for her.
